Visits of latest generation vessels

On March 10th and 14th, SGTD Doraleh Terminal welcomed in a week 2 of the largest and latest generation ships in the world, the CMA CGM MONTMARTRE and the CMA CGM JACQUES SAADE. For this premiere at SGTD, many officials were present to welcome the ships, including the Chairman of DPFZA, Mr. Aboubaker OMAR HADI, the CEO of SGTD, Mr. Abdillahi ADAWEH SIGAD as well as all the management of the terminal and harbor master, Mr. Mohamed MOUSSA ABAR. The CMA CGM JACQUES SAADE and the CMA CGM MONTMARTRE are among the largest and latest generation ships in the world, with a capacity of more than 23,000 TEU,  400m long with a draft of 15m and run on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). These ships are at the forefront of innovation and mark the CMA CGM Group's commitment to the energy transition of maritime transport. LNG is now the best industrial tool for preserving air quality and also provides a first response in the fight against global warming. We are proud to be the only port in the region able to accommodate the latest generation ships. We have also launched the purchase of four (4) high-capacity gantry cranes (ULCV) to operate such vessels and which we will receive shortly, as well as the expansion of the container yard which will be operational at the end of June 2022. These development projects will position SGTD Doraleh Terminal to be a regional hub and thus receive more international volumes in our terminal.
